We had some other problems while the temporary server was in place, but with the new server in place and some rewiring effort in our server closet, we are now back up and believe that we will remain running reliably.

Vesta was closed due to a power outage, and we have limited communications today. Currently, we have no phones, and limited internet access. We regret any inconvenience this causes, and hope to have the problems cleared up soon.

While that has been our emphasis, we haven’t been completely neglecting our future. For the past few years, we have been working on a series of boards based on ARM processors. None have yet made it to market, but we’ve been learning a lot along the way.

Currently, we’re working on a pair of small boards based on an STM32 processor that will effectively be a big step up from our MC2000-077. The STM32 is a 32-bit processor based on an ARM Cortex-M3 core. It has built-in peripherals that make it suitable for control applications. We have no current plans to implement Vesta Basic for these boards, but there are several good development environments for the C/C++ languages.

We don’t want to say too much at this point, because the new boards are not ready to be released, but we wanted you to know that we do have plans for the future.

Westminster, CO. Vesta Technology Inc, founded in 1984, was been purchased by CFC Tech LLC in November 2009. It will still be doing business under the Vesta Technology name. CFC Tech is owned by Ms. Carol Colburn, who comes to Vesta Technology with a wide variety of business and academic experience and a “go-getter” attitude. Vestatech, as it is commonly referred to, will continue its services to existing customers, and will work to meet new and existing customers’ needs for embedded controllers and peripherals.

Ms. Colburn is actively involved in the business community and supports Colorado’s innovators. She has opened the doors of Vesta Technology to the 32 year old Rocky Mountain Inventors Association, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, for RMIA’s monthly Denver meetings www.RMInventor.org. A company representative regularly attends the RMIA meetings to answer questions about embedding computers in new products.
