For the past year or so, Vesta has been concentrating on streamlining our product offerings and procedures, and on keeping our current customers satisfied. While that has been our emphasis, we haven’t been completely neglecting our future. For the past few years, we have been working on a series of boards based on ARM processors. None have yet made it to market, but we’ve been learning a lot along the way.
Currently, we’re working on a pair of small boards based on an STM32 processor that will effectively be a big step up from our MC2000-077. The STM32 is a 32-bit processor based on an ARM Cortex-M3 core. It has built-in peripherals that make it suitable for control applications. We have no current plans to implement Vesta Basic for these boards, but there are several good development environments for the C/C++ languages.
We don’t want to say too much at this point, because the new boards are not ready to be released, but we wanted you to know that we do have plans for the future.
